To begin with, a healthy lifestyle is crucial because it means you might live longer. And we all know what that means…more opportunities to screw up…just kidding!

Seriously, being able to lead a full life is probably one of the biggest blessings there is. It gives you more opportunities to make the world a better place. A healthy lifestyle is crucial in many more ways than just increasing your chance of leading a full life however, and I’ve listed some below.

1. Your Body is a Temple

God’s temple to be exact. As we know, in Bible times the temple was most sacred, and the people took great care of it.  Why?  Because this was the place where they were able to communicate with God.

Now, however, Jesus has taken care of that dilemma by dying on the cross for our sins.  So, we are now able to pray to God wherever we want because He lives in our hearts. Meaning that our body is now God’s temple.  Picture yourself living in a place that’s taken care of the way you take care of your body. Does it look good? Or bad?

God wants to live in a place that functions the way it should. He wants you to love yourself enough to take care of your body. If that’s not motivation, I don’t know what is.

2. Better Functions

Whether it’s at work, at school, at church, or at home, you will start realizing that everything is starting to come with more ease. Your brain fog is now gone, and you’re able to climb those endless flights of stairs.  The crazy mood swings are gone.  Fatigue has vanished.  The anxiety and depression in your life have subsided.  And unrealistic food cravings are lessening.

There’s thousands upon thousands of benefits that a healthy lifestyle will bring to your doorstep.  But only if you dare to take your first step towards it. Don’t give up because of set backs like “accidentally” eating 5 donuts. It’s ok to mess up, it’s just never ok to give up.

3. Confidence Booster

You don’t even need to have lost all the pounds you want to lose in order to start feeling more confident. As soon as you make that commitment to treating your body with the respect it deserves, your confidence will start to rise.

Why? Because you know that you’re doing what’s right for your body, and you’re ok with it not looking quite the way you want it to yet because you know it takes time. Also, appearances aren’t everything!

Confidence not only makes you comfortable in your own skin, it can benefit all areas in your life. For example: it can help you get your dream job. It can help you sing your heart out in front of thousands of people, or it can help you make that perfect main course you’ve been slaving over.

It not only helps you, it helps others in your life as well, because you have enough confidence to actually talk to people and communicate with them on a more personal level. Whatever it is that you need more confidence for in your life, healthy might and most likely will help you get the extra boost you need.

These are only some of the reasons why health is crucial. I know that this whole “healthy thing” may not be your cut of beef, but make it your cut of beef. I haven’t been a health “nut” my whole life either, and sometimes I still struggle with it, but it’s all about a matter of priorities. Do you want to eat all the junk in the world, or do you want to change all the junk in the world? Either way, try to find your reason, your motivation, your inspiration to get on that path of health and fitness. It’s all worth it, trust me.
